Passion Play 2009: HOPE
Although the Passion Play has come and gone, there is still chance to share what God has or is still doing in your life. Please continue to share with us as we keep this page open for a while longer. We will move on though when God presents the next season to us. Thank you again for your participation and sharing in God’s Kingdom work through this year’s Passion Play: Hope.
I have been blessed by the Passion Play this year like NEVER before! After years of being in it, it has meant more to me this time than ever! The miracles of Jesus are so vividly demonstrated and I feel SO blessed to be able to witness them each and every night. Jesus’ suffering has broken my heart each time and has been an overwhelming reminder of the price he paid for even me. Praise God for the Passion Play, even after all of these years!
I have always been very blessed by the Passion Plays of the past 18 years since Kathy and I have been members of OFBC. I willingly helped when I could. However, the blessings were not anything like they have been this year.
Since joining the choir I can truly testify that serving in the choir is being in the Lord’s WILL. Our practices are ALWAYS spiritual to me. His Presence is there in my fellow choir members as well as in the leadership of Eric, Lindsay, and many other dedicated Christians. If someone reads this testimony and is considering joining the OFBC choir, my prayer is that “you will give it a go.”
The blessings of participating in the Passion Play leave me at a loss of words. The Holy Spirit leads the actors, singers, stage crew, parking attendants and many others who participate behind the scenes. To Him I give all Glory and Honor. Only when we are with Him in Eternity will we know the outreach of our Passion Play ministry. I am so honored to be a small part in this great ministry.
Thanks to everyone. Let’s give Him our very best this weekend!!!
It is interesting that this year’s PP is centered around the theme of hope. Days before the first performance, I experienced some brutal attacks from the devil -of course. I could have let him completely get to me, but the music of the Lord played over and over in my head:
“But thou, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the lifter of my head.”
This song and many others from this year’s play have been such an encouragement to me in my daily walk. I appreciate all of our leadership and family in Christ who have made it possible to share the gospel in this way.
In His Grip,
The Passion Play to me is such a moving experience: One that I can attest to my faith in our lord and savior in such ways. To actually see the play itself really is a test to anyone’s faith: A test not only to see if you would side with the mob (peer pressure) vs. your faith itself (Christ walking along with his cross to bear). – “For everything give thanks to the Lord.” – 1st Thessalonians 5:18
Passion Plays have such a strong message and they can be a real eye opener to a lot of Christians or even members of other faiths. I love the message of Hope that this one sends.
