WHAT ARE THE HANDS AND
FEET OF JESUS DOING?
Pastor Eric is preaching a series of messages dealing with demolishing strongholds in your life. These strongholds keep us from experiencing God’s fullness and having true spiritual victory.
Our Blog Question is…
What stronghold have you demolished through the Lord’s help?
Please feel free to comment on how God is moving through your life. It may be just what someone else needs to read.

I was struck by a “God Moment” on Sunday afternoon that I would like to share.
I spend a lot of time in prayer and study preparing for the music to share in the worship times each week. Last year it was a large task with the sheer number of songs and 3 different services and teams to lead. This year, the task has been difficult in a different way. With the combination of all of the worship styles, each week becomes the challenge, at least for now, of combining them all, so that everyone will get something out of our time. My prayer eventually is that I won’t have to really “worry” about the different groups and their desires, but that we can all come expecting to worship, not hear certain types of music. However, in our growing process, I understand we, as a church, are not there yet.
This week, in my planning, I was led to the hymn, “Jesus Paid It All” early in the week. By Wednesday night, it had it’s place in our set and we rehearsed it that night. Even on Sunday AM, we rehearsed the great hymn and I totally overlooked the nugget of truth that God had for me. In leading both services, I made a reference to the SNOW we had last Friday and Saturday. What a blessing it was! It brought back some great memories of my childhood in West Virginia. The beauty of the white blanket covering everything that it touched. All the trees, powerlines, homes, and cars, all had something in common. The white covering that seemed so innocent and pure. We all were in amazement of the winter wonderland that had come to our corner of the world, which was the first time in a decade!
Yesterday afternoon, as I was laying with my newborn, Ben, for a little nap, the Lord connected the dots for me. Dots that were laid before me, but I had overlooked. As I referenced the snow early in the worship service, God punctuated it with a final stanza of the great hymn. Remember, “sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.”. Jesus did pay it all! He took our sins, and covered them, just as the blanket of snow covered our homes, and neighborhoods, Jesus washed our sins clean, gave us the Righteousness of God, which makes us sons and daughters of the Most High God!
How did I miss that last week in preparation? I didn’t know it was even a threat to snow until Thursday night. Even on Friday afternoon when the schools let out one hour early, I was skeptical. I am glad that God knows what He is doing. I pray that I will always just be a willing servant to share His truth that He gives to me.
Take time this week to explore how God is speaking to you…..you don’t hear Him? Learn to listen, take time to listen…then be willing to share it. Testimonies encourage more testimonies. We all could use more stories of how God shows us in your life.

Beautifully said Erik. Thanks for listening so intently to what God is sharing with you and then in turn sharing with us. You are appreciated so much. Keep on keeping on.

Thanks for this nugget of truth Erik. Christ’s ministry was all about change. As difficult as it is to manage change, the blessing is that, regardless of our feelings, change moves us forward and provides additional opportunities to experience God in all His glory. Change happens, it is how you deal with it that makes it progress. God tells us not to “worry”, but to trust. Whenever I get caught up in the chaos of change, I turn to Phillippians 3:12-14. Press on!

Last night, after my sons’ boy scout meeting, Jeremiah’s leader came up to Andre and I and told us that the group was discussing how each of the boys celebrate special events in their life. When it was Jeremiah’s turn he spoke of his baptism. This led to many questions from his six year buddies. Jeremiah’s leader said that he was very confident in his responses and was able to answer their questions and explain the them what it means to be a Christian and the reason why we get baptized. When the leader told us this, I was so amazed by the fact that Jeremiah is not ashamed of his decision and he knows that he is not supposed to keep it to himself.
No matter where we are it is always the right place to share Jesus with others. I just wanted to share this happy moment with you guys. Thanks for reading.

Dear Elaine,
Praise the Lord that you and Andre have nurtured your little Jeremiah to understand what being a child of the King is all about. We rejoice with you and thank you for your testimony of what the Lord means to you.

WOW! What a great season here at OFBC and in the worship ministry! Praise the Lord for another great Easter Season. The Passion Play 2010, was a tremendous blessing for me and my family, even Baby Ben was thrilled to play Baby Jesus for the presentations!
For me, my favorite part of the play is our time before we come over to share with the congregation each night. I was touched by each of our testimony devotions and really enjoyed warming up with you singing songs of praise. Thank you so much for allowing me the privilege to work with you all and see God’s hand work among the ministry here at Old Fort. I am looking forward to more great seasons to come. Enjoy your break, worship choir, be ready to come back real soon.
Love you ALL!

In what ways is the Lord demolishing a stronghold in your life?
Erik,
Your question implies that The Lord IS demolishing strongholds. that is a faith testament brother!!!–not that he can, but that HE IS…and I praise HIM for that–i shared with a sister tonite after choir that when Eric was giving the defintion of a stronghold in his message on sunday–i just wanted to scream to the top of my lungs–its a lie–IT’S THE DEVILS LIE–my lie is fear!!! what if…this or that or what if this happens…….it is the DEVILS lie that i have wrestled with too long , and by the power of the LIVING God…it is coming down///demolioshed///….no more!!!…no matter what happens in my life …GOD IS GOD….whatever happens, he allows to happen for my good and His glory…He is sovereign, and he has my life and my situations and circumstances in the very palm of his hand, with an eternal perspective–the verse you shared tonite was no accident–2Timothy 1:7..For God did not give us a spirit of fear…but of power, and love and a sound mind–Thank you for sharing, and Thank God for giving it to you…
Be still and KNOW that HE IS GOD..Be still and Know that He is Holy..be still O restless soul of mine, bow before the Prince Of Peace..Let the noise and clamor cease….
BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD.
